MM/SPN-720
The MM/SPN-720 (MM stands for Marina Militare, a nomenclature for the Italian Navy, similar to the US-Army/Navy’s nomenclature AN/…) is a shipborne, Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) solid-state, precision approach radar (PAR), operating in I-Band. The radar is able to provide safe and reliable final approach and deck landing guidance for aircraft during day/night and in adverse weather conditions. Its compact dimension (around 1 cubic meter) allow easy installation on any ship and it is may be the smallest PAR in the world.
The SPN-720 is also deployed on the Turkish aircraft carrier “Anadolu” (L-400).
