AN/FPQ-10

AN/FPQ-10 is operating in the C-band missile-range instrumentation tracking radar. The monopulse radars is designed to acquire and track missiles and aircraft.

The radar was originally intended for a fixed installation. Nevertheless, it was installed on ships also. The main purpose was weather balloon tracking over the pacific ocean. The ship's movements (pitch and roll) were corrected mathematically by the radar's computer.

The antenna was fed by a five-section feedhorn. This allowed both the monopulse method and the conical scan to be performed.

Except for the transmitter, which used a magnetron, the radar use solid state circuits throughout. About 35% of the circuits are microcircuited.
