SLAR 2000

SLAR 2000 “Raphaël TH” (RAdar de PHotographie Aerienne ELectrique a Transmission Hertzienne, manufacturers designator: TMV 064) is operating in the X-band side looking airborne radar (SLAR) with synthetic aperture radar capabilities for the French Mirage F.1CR. The radar was located in an external pod under the fuselage of the aircraft. The raw data was transmitted to the ground station via a radio link operating in S band. The maximum range of the radio link was 350 km.

The radar has been used in the French Air Force since 1995 and has been exported to many other countries. Approximately 740 units of this type were produced.
