Rajendra is operating in the C-band multifunction radar with a passive electronically scanned phased array which is equipped with around 4,000 discrete radiators. It is the primary sensor for Akash air defence system for the Indian Armed Services and includes an X-band transmitter for missile command. Up to 4 aims in a sector of 60° can be engaged simultaneously with two missiles each.

The Rajendra radar is mounted on a 8 × 8 TATRA 813 built in license by the Indian company Bharat Earth Movers.
