Precision Approach Radar PAR 2090

The PAR 2090C is a ground controlled X-band, Precision Approach Radar designed to provide efficient and accurate tracking of over 32 targets, with the ability to control up to 8 runways, with a field–of–view of 10 degrees in elevation and an azimuth coverage of ± 15 degrees. The PAR is particularly useful for emergency applications to allow the landing and taking off of aircraft and helicopter on an unprepared strip of land. The high-resolution 21 inch TFT display presents the glideslope in azimuth and elevation and provides accurate detection and target discrimination in all weather conditions and excellent clutter rejection.

This Precision Approach Radar is available in two variants:

With a modular and open architecture and extensive use of COTS components, PAR 2090 C offers reduced maintenance costs and easy growth capabilities.

SELEX Sistemi Integrati took part to the 10th edition of IDEF (International Defence Industry Fair) Exhibition, held in Tyyap Fair, Convention and Congress Center in Istanbul, Turkey, from 10th to 13th May 2011. SELEX has been awarded two contracts for its PAR 2090 CF worth around 31 Million Euros. The first contract was assigned by TELEDIFE (Direzione Generale delle Telecomunicazioni dell’Informatica e delle Tecnologie Avanzate) on behalf of the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) for the supply of a single PAR 2090 CF to be installed in a fixed configuration on the Galatina air base. The second contract, obtained under an international bid, will see the supply of five sets of PAR 2090 CF surveillance systems to the Swiss Air Force through the prime contractor EADS Cassidian
