J17
J17 is operating in VHF-Band 2D air surveillance and target acquisition radar that is designed for detecting low-flying aims. The VHF range is particularly advantageous for action against so-called stealth aircraft. The relatively narrow-band Yagi antennas are mounted on a telescopic mast. The flat antenna in front of the traverse is used by the secondary radar (IFF).
Under the designation Type 317 it is also used on ships of the Chinese Navy.
