Laguna-M

The Laguna-M (Cyrillic: «Лагуна-М») is a deployable, bistatic over-the-horizon surface radar (OTH-SW) operating in the HF band (IEEE designation) or A band (NATO designation). It was developed from the stationary 5P21 “Podsolnukh”, uses a similarly large transmitting antenna but a smaller receiving antenna array. Laguna is intended for civilian use only and is to be used to combat smugglers, drug traffickers and poachers. It can only locate objects on the surface of the sea but not aircraft.

The Laguna radar was developed in 2019 and is to be used in the Black Sea. It could monitor all shipping traffic on the Black Sea from the Russian coast to the Bosporus.
