Symmetrical (round) parabolic antennas

Round or approximately round parabolic antennas form a very narrow antenna pattern in both the horizontal and vertical planes. Therefore they need more time to cover the space, but they can measure both the azimuth and elevation of a target. Main applications are therefore weather radars, where the time required for scanning is insignificant, as well as older weapon control radars, which processes only a single target and usually requires a target assignment by a special acquisition radar. But other applications are also possible, especially if a more complex feed system is used, for example, from several horn radiators.
