AN/PPS-15A(V)1

AN/PPS-15A(V)1 is operating in the X-band battery or vehicle powered, division level, short-range perimeter surveillance radar. It is a Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave Radar that indicate moving targets only and cannot detect stationary targets. Its rectangular antenna can be set for automatic sector scan on a given bearing with a selectable scan azimuth width. The targets were displayed either acoustically in an electrical headset or visually as a digital bar graph.

The production was ceased in 1997. Over 2000 units were sold. A later AN/PPS-15B Model 386 had twice the maximum range, seven range gates, pseudo-random CW code modulation, and adjustable sector scan. It was not adopted for service.
