Mark 28

Mark 28 radar was a target acquisition radar operating in S band mounted on the Mk.33 and Mk.37 gun directors to control the fire of 40 to 127 mm caliber shipboard guns. It provides range, bearing and elevation data primarily on air targets. This radar was installed on larger vessels. The antenna used the principle of conical scan. A tube of the magnetron family 706DY to 706GY was installed in the transmitter.
