Mark 3

Mark 3 was operating in the UHF-band air and surface surveillance radar designed for fire-control of main batteries. It supplies range and bearing data to the gun directors.

The antenna was a single-curved parabolic reflector fed by a group of either 12 (Mk. 3 Mod 0 and Mod 1) or 6 dipoles (Mk. 3 Mod 2 and Mod 3). The Mod 2 and Mod 3 antennas were lighter and stabilized against ship heeling.
