DRBV-20

DRBV-20 (Détection Radioélectrique emBarquée de Veille, corresponds to: maritime surveillance radar) was operating in the VHF-band long range air surveillance radar. There are two principal antenna configurations (DRBV-20A and DRBV-20C). The antenna is a big “mattress” type with dipole feed elements arranged in three or four horizontal rows.

The commissioning took place in 1949 on Colbert and De Grasse anti-aircraft cruisers of the French Navy. The radar remained in operation until the mid-1980s.
