Mk. 13
Mk. 13 is operating in the X-Band radar used in conjunction with Gun Directors Mk. 34, 38 and Mk. 54 for control of 6-, 8-, 12- and 16-inch guns.
The antenna of Radar Equipment Mk 13 is mounted atop the gun director. A parabolic antenna with dimensions of 8 × 2 feet (≙ 2.44 × 0.61 m) moves within the radome with a fan beam pattern having a vertical beamwidth of 3.6°. During operation it scans five times a second, thus completing ten scans per second.
