Rainbow weather radar

Rainbow weather radar was operating in X-band precipitation radar introduced by Marconi Company Ltd in 1964.

The antenna was mounted on an aluminium cone containing the transmitter and receiver in pan-climatic installation, so that the whole assembly need only be emplaced and connected to a mains supply. A single multi-core lead connects to the display up to 3,000 ft away. The automatically or manually controlled parabolic reflector antenna withstand winds of up to 120 knots.
