MR-220 “Peel Cone”
MR-220 (NATO designator: “Peel Cone”, Russian denomination “Reyd”, Cyrillic: «Рейд») is a multifunctional radar operating in S-band for navigation, airspace, and sea surface reconnaissance as well as target acquisition radar for naval artillery.
The radar uses a common antenna reflector for the S-band and for the secondary radar operating in the UHF band for target identification. The secondary radar uses two logarithmic periodic antennas left and right of the horn radiator for the S-band as primary radiators.
The radar represents the technological state of the art of the early 70s.
