E-Captor
E-Captor is operating in the I-Band airborne multifunction radar using an active phased array antenna. The radar is intended for use in the Eurofighter Typhoon.
The antenna uses 1626 Standardised Modular Transmit-/Receive-Modules (SMTRM) of Hensoldt company (counted in a high-resolution photo of the antenna). This suggests that the radar has a transmission power of more than 9 kW. A problem of such compact antennas is the necessary cooling of the modules. The E-Captor uses cooling by evaporation.
