JTPS-102
JTPS-102 is a mobile L-Band 3D air surveillance and fighter control radar.
The radar uses an active phased array antenna with a cylindrical structure and therefore requires no mechanical rotation. A second omnidirectional antenna serves to suppress interfering signals and the antenna’s side-lobes (the small cylinder on the roof of the large cylinder).
NEC supplied this kind of radar to the Japanese Air Self-Defence Force between 1992 and 2000.
