The antenna is manufactured by the british EASAT company.

The ASR-E is currently the most modern air traffic control radar designed and manufactured by EADS for approach control and tower control applications

The ASR-E is an S-Band solid state radar (see its Tx-racks in the Chapter „Basics”) with the following attributes:

Improved target acquisition and identification and a separate weather channel that can also detect bird migration all assist the air traffic controller in marking rapid situation assessments even under difficult air traffic condition.

High azimuth and range accuracy and resolution of the PSR sensors have been significantly improved compared witch allow radar staggering of 0.3 nautical miles on approach.
