Marconi S 314

The S 314 was an operating in S-Band coastal defense radar designed for coast watching applications. It was suitable for the detection of both ships and aircraft. The radar transmitter was fitted with an air-cooled magnetron.

The antenna was the Marconi type SA 100 with an offset horn-fed paraboloid reflector measuring 29 ft × 10 ft. The reflector was made of aluminium alloy mesh and the supporting framework. It is the same reflector as used by the 50 cm ATC-Radar Marconi S 232, but the antenna got a significant better directivity by the shorter wavelength.

The Marconi S 314 was developed around 1960.
