AN/ZPY-1 “STARLite”

The AN/ZPY-1 “STARLite” is a multifunctional airborne surveillance radar developed by Northrop Grumman for use in the MQ-1C Sky Warrior/ERMP unmanned aircraft (drone). It is a synthetic aperture radar operating in the Ku band, which specifically detects targets moving on the ground at the correct position. It is thus used for reconnaissance and protection of own troops on the ground.
