AN/SPS-41

AN/SPS-41 is designed as an X-band surface search and navigation radar for smaller ships. The operating range is from 25 yards to 32 nautical miles. The radar uses a PPI-screen with a 10 inch diameter cathode ray tube. Range rings and a variable marker enables precise range determination of targets presented.

Its antenna AN1004/SPS-41 is a single curved parabolic reflector fed by a horn. It provides a fan beam pattern with a vertical coverage of 20 degrees. On the back it is equipped with a wind balancing vane.
