The FBPAR (Fixed-Base Precision Approach Radar) is an X-Band ground-based Precision Approach Radar specially designed for the US-Army, and is manufactured by Raytheon Company. The FBPAR is also known as AN/FPN-67.
The FBPAR pedestal is capable of coverage for up to 6 predetermined runway approaches and can be commanded remotely or locally. The elevation radome is 3.85 m high, and the azimuth radome 2.2 m wide. It covers ± 10 degrees in azimuth and -1 to +6 degrees in elevation. The electronics is mounted in a fixed standard ISO shelter (8 ft x 20 ft x 8 ft), located near the runway. The FBPAR is a track-while-scan system and the update rate is less than 1 second.
